Absolutely! Just go ahead and do the normal submitting process and I'll overwrite the file.

There is a few older versions of files I've resubmitted that I'd like to see removed from the database...

That's great !! By the way will this site ever take soundfonts ? I made a FF7 soundfont that makes all my FF7 MIDIs sounds almost like the originals. Of course if that's not the focus of the site, never mind.

I would love to put soundfonts up if they make your MIDI's sound like their full potential. I'm still a little unsure how everything works though, like, are they an .exe file that gets installed? If you could message me with a little info on how to install them and what they do then I'll be happy to post it on the site! The more this site can expand, the better!

I'd love to but I'll have to admit they're also a bit obscure to me ! Sound fonts are .sf2 files which contains a list of ".wav" samples and a list of instruments that gives instructions about how to use them.
I know with some sound carts you can just load the .sf2 file in the cart (using a program) and then it is "installed" - midi files will play with that soundfont. If you don't have such a sound cart (like on my laptop for example) then you need to use a softsynth that can use the .sf2 file. I have one but it is not free and kinda crappy, I'll have to look for a better / free alternative, and I'll tell you when I find one.

OK you can get soundfont works with MIDI files freeware with a tool called TiMidity++, it's not exactly easy to use though :(
But at least I got it working and it's free. You just have to get a .cfg file and put the full name (adress+name) of your soundfont .sf2 file in it.
Then TiMidity++ can read MIDI files with any soundfont, and if you read my FF7 MIDIs with my FF7 soundfont, they sound almost original.

LOL, while it sounds complicated I'll look into it and then add it to the site, thanks for the suggestion!
